Infrastructure

Could NMC and NRS coexist on the same server ?

The NMC and NRS can coexist on the same machine, but you should know that the optimized configuration is to have the NRS with the DTW.
You will then need to install SSAS and SSRS on the NMC server in order to use the NRS.
You will therefore have to reconfigure connection strings (. Dtsconfig, webconfig, etc. Ditto the interventions above).

Please note that a NRS may require more Windows Server features as a NMC does. For more details, please check the NEP installation manual.

Could NMC and NRS have their SQL Databases on one / two other machines?

No, you have to use our body to our bases.
No, we do not deport the BDD NMC / NRS on / other machines

Could we uninstall these two modules

    • SQL Server Integration Services 10.0 (who isn’t started) and
    • SQL Full-test Filter Daemon Launcher (NEWTEST)?

"SQL Server Integration Services" is required for our products NMC and NRS and should not be uninstalled.
The SQL service is not required on the data warehouse.
"SQL Full-text Filter Daemon Launcher (NEWTEST)" is not used but it is installed on our technical base.
We do not recommend to uninstall it from NMC and NRS. You can leave it off.
We do not provide uninstall for unused services, this is out of Newtest support range.

    Securing SQL services accounts

Securing the 5 SQL services accounts on application servers

    • " SQL Server Integration Services 10.0" - currently running under the NT AUTHORITY \ NetworkService
    • " SQL Server Analysis Services ( NEWTEST ) " - currently running under the NT AUTHORITY \ NetworkService
    • " SQL Full -text Filter Daemon Launcher ( NEWTEST ) " - currently running under the NT AUTHORITY \ LocalService
    • " SQL Server Reporting Services ( NEWTEST ) " - currently running under the LocalSystem account
    • "SQL Server " and "SQL Server Agent" services have been reconfigured with the domain service accounts , with only the necessary rights to the NMC and NRS servers.

Is it possible to reconfigure the permissions after the establishment of these accounts at the 5 SQL services listed?

We do not recommend to change the rights of SQL services on our technical platform NMC and NRS .

    • " SQL Server Integration Services 10.0 " = NT AUTHORITY \ NetworkService
    • " SQL Server Analysis Services ( NEWTEST ) " = NT AUTHORITY \ NetworkService
    • " SQL Full -text Filter Daemon Launcher ( NEWTEST ) " is not used
    • " SQL Server Reporting Services ( NEWTEST ) " = LocalSystem

We do not provide reconfiguration procedure permissions following a change of SQL Service account, this is out of Newtest support range.
To do this , it is best to ask for our consulting services in order to define the scope of the action and thus assess the impacts of these changes of account.
