During your daily use of NEP solution, you will need to supervise your infrastructure, data bases and windows services in order to keep NEP solution in an optimised state.
You may find below the list of elements to supervise.
Windows Services
You will need to keep an eye on the following Window Services. They should always be active.
NMC/NRS
NMC
- NEWTESTREMOTEMANAGER (Newtest Remote Manager)
- WAS (Windows process Activation Service)
- W3SVC (World Wide Web Publishing Service)
- MSSQL$NEWTEST (SQL Server (NEWTEST))

- NEWTSERV.EXE
- MODULECOLLECTOR.EXE (x 2)
- MODULEARCHIVER.EXE
- MODULEREFERENCE.EXE
- MODULEANALYSIS.EXE
- MODULESUPERVISION.EXE
- NWALARMSEVICE.EXE

- DRPMANAGERSVC.EXE (For DRP solution)
- NHTTP.EXE (For protocal NHTTP and NHTTPS)
NRS
- MODULEREFERENCESYNC.EXE
NAM

SQL Server jobs
Supervision of the following SQL jobs could be useful.
NMC
Job name | Tolerated max duration |
NewtestData_DataTransfer_SQL | 10 min |
NewtestData_StatusHistorySplit | 5 min |
If the job takes in general more than the tolerated max duration, you may be experiencing a SQL Server performance problem.
NRS
Job name | Tolerated max duration |
NewtestReporting_OLAP_Processing | To be defined according to first executions |
NewtestBI_OLAP_Processing | To be defined according to first executions |
Machine configuration
CPU in use
NMC/NRS
- Should not be > 99% more than 20 minutes
RAM in use
NMC/NRS
- RAM in use should not be >= 99% more than 20 minutes
- Define a maximal authorised RAM for SQLSERV.EXE process
- Keep RAM used by the following process in control:
- W3WP.EXE < 1.5 Go
- NMC : MODULECOLLECTOR.EXE < 1 Go
- Other Newtest modules < 500 Mo
Hard drive spaced in use
Total use of Hard drives should never pass 95% (CRITICAL) of the total volum. By passing this limit, Newtest modules will stop working.
Each Newtest product data/logs/binaire zone should have at least 10% free space.
